Ladybird is an open-source, independent web browser developed from scratch by the Ladybird Browser Initiative, a nonprofit organization. Unlike mainstream browsers, Ladybird does not rely on existing browser engines like Blink or WebKit. Instead, it utilizes a novel engine based on web standards, aiming to provide a fast, stable, and privacy-respecting browsing experience. Currently in heavy development, Ladybird is targeting its first alpha release for early adopters in 2026, with support for Linux, macOS, and other Unix-like systems.
